  1. In a small sauce pan, combine sugar and water and bring to a boil. Do not stir.
  2. Once the sugar-water has come to an amber color, turn off heat.
  3. Add heavy cream and whisk until smooth.
  4. Once smooth, add salt and butter. Keep whisking until butter is incorporated.
  5. Pour in whiskey, give a quick stir and pour over the brownies.
