Summer is prime time for hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks, sausages, and hearty vegetables on the grill. Or so we’ve been told. But we’re proposing an addendum to those summer party options.
What if hot weather brought us closer and closer to a truly stunning meal that every meat eater will love? Like spicy and succulent browned turkey loaded with the savory flavors of soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, sesame oil, and everyone’s favorite spicy condiment – sambal oelek.
Then you layer on cool cucumber, spicy radishes, fresh herbs and edible flowers for an extra pop of color. (We went with borage, because the little petals taste just like cucumber. Paging Willy Wonka!)
And then folks, you give those lettuce wraps a hit of the reserved marinade and, wow. You have the perfect summer dinner. It’s easy peasy and healthy, too! Plus, a big platter of these wraps will make you the VIP of backyard cookouts.
Also, if you want to bring this to a potluck or a picnic with access to electricity, just throw the spicy turkey into a little slow cooker and you’re ready to roll!
