If you’ve landed here wondering what the heck a breakfast strata is, then you may need to brunch up on your breakfast food (pun intended). It’s basically a baked egg casserole dish, but rather than adding hashbrowns or potatoes like we see everywhere these days, this recipe adds one of our favorite food groups – bread! And while some strata recipes require mixing all of the ingredients together and baking in the oven (kind of like a savory bread pudding), this one kicks it old school by layering the bread.
Now, if you’re already brunched up on what a strata is and landed here because you’re in the mood for feeling like you’ve rolled up on your favorite diner after dancing the night away with friends (or doing “The Robot” by yourself on the dance floor, or just hanging out in the corner like Baby – hey, we don’t judge!), then grab a few ingredients and get ready to throw together an elegant looking strata that has all of the flavor profiles of something you’d inhale over a cup of coffee at a too-brightly lit diner at 2 a.m.
Bacon? Check.
Eggs? Check.
Toasty bread? Check.
Cheese? Check.
Heck, we’ve even thrown in some parsley just like you’d get on the side of the plate!
Plus, we’ve added spinach to the mix, too.
Because, hey. We’re not getting any younger and still gotta eat those veggies.
Now, excuse us while we put on our dancing shoes and tap our way into the kitchen!

Oh wait, did you care to join in dancing your way to some strata? Then round up your ingredients, get that cutting board ready, grab your F.N. Sharp Utility Knife for some veggie prep and your bread knife for the bread slicing, and let’s get dancin’!

*Note: If all you have on hand is fresh sourdough bread, fear not! Just take the slices and place them on a large, rimmed sheet pan and bake them in a 225 degree oven for 20 minutes, turning once. That will dry the bread out, and get it to the right consistency!

The knife arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Not only is the knife well balance and very sharp, it is also beautiful. I'll be getting all my knives at F.N. Sharp in the future!
Good quality and very sharp. My one disappointment though is they are Made in China. I thought they were Japanese made or USA. Not just "designed in USA from a Japanese steel. But, they are very sharp and good weight. Attractive knives. Good website with tons of knife related information. The price isn't bad for the good quality. I just prefer USA made.
