When it comes to loving salads, well, we’re salad lovers. As in, when we make a salad, we might whisper sweet nothings to it while it stares up at us from a bowl or platter.
“You’re gorgeous, baby,” we’ve been known to whisper.
And we don’t just go nuts for salads in the spring, summer, and fall, when we can scoop up gorgeous ingredients from the farmers market, either.
In the depths of winter, we find ourselves lingering in the produce aisle transfixed by all the beauty and color that lay in bins and under little spigots of water.
Because, when the days are dark, and the nights are long – there’s just nothing better than a rainbow of color splayed out with some succulent meat to create the perfect meal.
And, with January in its full-on winter mode, our minds wandered to the sunny shores of Greece. Which, of course, made us think of gyros.
Which, of course, made us think of turning that amazing sandwich into a salad. Because, why not? It is January after all.
So, grab your F.N. Sharp Damascus Steel Utility Knife and wooden cutting board, some gorgeous vegetables, herb-covered chicken, and quick tzatziki sauce. You’ve got a trip to the Mediterranean to take!
