When it comes to puff pastry, well, we’re kind of fiends for it. It just sits all shy and unassuming in the freezer until you need it to sing and dance with pizzazz and a tap and a twirl of flavor.
And boy, do these hand pies have pizzazz aplenty!
Russet potatoes are combined with smoky bacon and bright cabbage, and then those bad boys are sauteed with caraway seeds and enough dill to make the average herb aficionado swoon.
Oh, did we mention there’s butter?
Oh, yes.
There’s butter, too.
Bonus: You can make the filling ahead of time, then just throw these hand pies together before the gang comes over to the house for Sunday brunch, to celebrate a big game, for an old school game night, or just to celebrate a day that ends in “y.”
Now round up your ingredients, get that cutting board ready, grab that chef’s knife for some dicing and that bread knife for some slicing and let’s make some hand pies!
